Thrash N’ Burn is one of the better skateboard games for those who want to really explore a full three dimensional world. Try out the Freestylin’ mode to get in shape for the competition, and then bust those killer moves in the Trick Time mode and see what you’re made of. This latter mode will really test your ability to hold up under fire, and pulling off crazy stunts while the timer ticks away isn’t nearly as easy as it sounds. Considering that so many arcade games feature relatively flat graphics, the well-designed art in this one will make you feel the grip tape right under your feet.
There are a few things that you might want to keep in mind before grinding these virtual bowls and ramps. The game can sometimes seem a bit glitchy or unresponsive, but this can usually be corrected by clicking inside of it. This is more of a problem with Shockwave games in general, but most of the problems with Thrash N’ Burn can be corrected this way.
Paying attention to how tricks are pulled off can avoid a crash landing, and you should always watch the angle that your skater is on before letting the skateboard drop to the pavement. Using the ramp for speed is usually a good idea, and this can be the key to catching some really big air. However, you should still pay close attention to your trajectory unless you want to totally wipe out. When you get a little better, you can pull off tricks in succession. These combos can really start to add up, and good players might earn some very high scores.
